Requirements (per 2 pyruvates): 3 NAD+, FAD+, inorganic phosphate, ADP, ADP, succinyl CoA, Acetyl CoA
Produces (per 2 pyruvates): 3 NADH, FADH2, 2 CO2, H20, ATP
Significance: The part of cellular respiration in which most of the energy in the form of NADH, ATP and FADH2 is produced. This is where Acetyl CoA molecules go to get recycled into oxaloacetate, which then aids with the processing of even more Acetyl CoA.
